Challenge missions
- The objective of challenge mode is to clear the mission within the allotted time using a character with a fixed starting level and equipment.
- The mission will fail if any member dies without a scape doll.
- The mission must be completed within the target time to obtain the Ring rewards.
- Items can be traded by dropping them on the ground, pass unwanted stuff and keep an eye out for the good upgrades for your team.
- Clearing all 7 missions with a total time of 2:30:00 or less will award you an Extend Code. Clearing all 7 missions with one type will award you an Extend Code. A character can only obtain 5 in their lifetime from these missions.
- To farm extend codes efficiently, clear all 7 within the target time with one type to earn 2, then make a new character to repeat the process.
- Clearing all 7 missions with a total time of 2:00:00 or less will earn you the title True Challenger and the twin saber Hyakka Ryouran.
- Completing a mission also awards Challenge Points, these will level up your Challenge Rank.
- When aiming for a fast time there is a large element of luck involved, the only way to mitigate this is to run it repeatedly for as favorable a run as possible.
- Random enemy layouts and spawn patterns, boosted large type monsters and the selection of weapon drops will greatly influence the time.

- Target time rewards will be a random 50% attribute or neutral.

Challenge II (DL)
- Completing all 5 missions will allow you to receive an Extend Code from Challenge II Exchange. The clear time doesn't matter.
- Since none of the missions require two people, you can farm extend codes solo with this set.
- Completing all 5 missions with a total time of 1:00 or less will award you a W. Badge: Platinum.
