JP name カガジバリ
Enemy type Native creature (Neudaiz)
Classification Normal enemy
Elements Light icon.gif

Abilities

  • Whirlwind Punch - Using both its fists held out, Kagajibari can spin on the spot to hit players multiple times (and knock them either back or forwards).
  • Elemental Shield - Touching a Kagajibari's shield does high damage, and can inflict Shock. In addition, while the shield is raised, Kagajibari can absorb elemental attributes (see 'Strategies' below).
  • Light Projectile - Kagajibari can shoot a ball of light energy, which damages and can inflict Sleep. This is only used before an elemental attribute is absorbed (and after the absorb ability ends).
  • Double TECHNIC Attack - When absorbing an element, Kagajibari can attack simultaneously with two TECHNICs. This is either Foie and Gifoie, Barta and Gibarta, Diga and Gidiga, or Megid and Megiverse. When Light-element is absorbed, Kagajibari will just use its Light Projectile, and when Lightning-element is absorbed, it will only use Zonde.

Strategies

Part of defeating Kagajibari easily is knowing how its elemental shield works. When it is raised, Kagajibari becomes able to 'absorb' the element of striking weapons, firearms or TECHNIC attacks used against it. In game terms, Kagajibari will then be able to use that element against players, until the shield is used again or the ability expires. For example, using a Fire-element Spear against him while the shield is up would cause Kagajibari to start using Foie and Gifoie instead of its Light Projectile attack. Note that Kagajibari's element always stays as Light, only his attacks change. Recommended ways to tackle this enemy are to use either Neutral weapons (which may take a while), or Lightning-element weapons. This is because for some reason, Kagajibari only counters with Zonde, rather than the usual linear and Gi-tech combination. Using Light-element weapons works too, but because Kagajibari is Light-element itself, killing it with them would take a long time. Finally, the use of launch/knockdown/knockback attacks is NOT recommended, as these often cause Kagajibari to counter-attack with its Whirlwind Punch, which is potentially lethal. To avoid this attack, use Just Guard. Regular Guarding will usually fail (you will run out of PP, and then take more damage), and dodging cannot always dive far enough to exit the range of the punch. Also note that Kagajibari's punch can still trigger when Stunned.
